Kumu’s teaching style is fun, creative, challenging and clear.
Yes, Kumu will work you hard.
Yes, Kumu will keep stretching you.
Yes, Kumu will expect growth from you.
But you will be laughing along the way the whole time.
Come to class and you’ll see… 🙂
As you well know, it can cost a “pretty penny” for dance classes.
But, because our hula classes are held on the 2nd floor of the new Hale Wai Vista Community Center (a non-profit organization) and not at a pricey studio, the students of Ke Ali’i O Ka Malu receive HUGE savings thanks to less overhead costs.

Students can also read weekly announcements, contact us for help on any hula matter, order class uniforms, print out song words, download audio files of music, and more.
This officially makes Ke Ali’i O Ka Malu a sustainable and “paperless” hālau!

Here is What Some of Our Haumāna Have to Say…
I love the name Ke Ali’i O Ka Malu. It is one of the sweetest names for the Lord. You can make friends so easily because we treat each other like family. The kumu and kokua help you a lot. If you need extra help they don’t make it so obvious and you get tutoring. They treat every student the same. I feel happy & safe at this hula hālau.
I love being a member with Ke Ali’i O Ka Malu because classes are fun, and learning how to chant & dance hula has never been this easy. I love Kumu’s way of teaching in a stress-free environment because like Kumu has said ‘Learning hula should be a fun experience enjoyed by all’. And I love the the website, the website keeps me informed with news/upcoming events, and videos so I can practice at home. Mahalo Kumu….You’re awesome!
I love the fact that there is a website because there are videos on there to refer to if I forget my dance and announcements to keep me informed. I also love the NICE kumu (I have to… he’s my daddy). Ke Ali’i O Ka Malu is by far the best hālau I have been in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kumu’s love for God, family and hula shines through His teaching. We just love his beautiful and unique style of hula. His craziness always puts a smile on our faces and makes us feel loved and welcomed. And, the keiki just love their Kumu! Classes are taught in a positive environment and Student Guidelines are applied at all times. Also, the hula website is so cool and awesome. It provides everything we learned in class and more! Haumana have full access to the website where we can log in to practice, learn, and grow in every area of hula on our own free time, 24/7. Kumu provides the best for his haumana. His heart, hard work, dedication and excellence is evident through his teaching, ‘ohana and Ke Ali’i O Ka Malu. I LOVE our hula ‘ohana! Kumu, U Da Best. Mahalo Ke Akua!!! I am La’akea S. and I approve this message. (lol)
I love having new Hula sisters. I especially love the videos on the website because I can practice my hula at anytime. Our ‘ohana appreciates Kumu and his ‘ohana for teaching our keiki to embrace our Hawaiian culture through song and dance in a ‘keiki friendly’, loving, and Godly way.
